There are six exciting new paintings of mine on show at the Pennine, Peaks and Pathways exhibition at Harrison Lord, Bradford Road, Brighouse from 26 May – 23 June 2012.

Visiting Patchings art festival this year? I will be running two, three hour watercolour workshops organised by The Artsist Magazine and sponsored by Great Art. Painters will learn how to capture light in a landscape scene by using contrast as well as learning how to paint effective shadows. They will learn how to deal with colour creatively with helpful advice on mixing and colour combinations along with tips for energetic and expressive brush techniques. The cost is £50 per person for which you receive over £50 worth of watercolour painting materials selected by myself, three hours of expert tuition plus free entry into the show. There are only a few places left so book now before it is too late.

If you are wanting something more in depth then why not book on my popular weekend course at Staithes on the beautiful and atmospheric East Yorkshire coast? These are run by Staithes Gallery and are a true painting experience. Painters are accommodated in traditional fishing cottages dotted about in the village and each day we meet at the studio above the gallery and go out on location from there painting the sights of Staithes. This year’s course runs from 29th June to 1st July. To book contact Staithes Gallery on 01947 841840

A further four new paintings of mine can be seen at this year’s Holmfirth Artweek, from 1 – 7 July. Holmfirth Artweek is one of the biggest exhibiting shows in the calendar with over 400 artists showing. The exhibition raises money for MacMillan Cancer Support and to give you some scale on the extent of the show, in 2009 the sales figure for the week was £85000, which gave £37500 to Macmillan. It is an excellent show with a worthy cause.

If you fancy a day painting flowers in watercolour there are two spaces left on my painting flowers workshop at Coley Sunday School Hall on 11 August 2012. Learn some techniques for creating incredible flower paintings then follow me through an exciting stage by stage painting. All demonstrations are fully and clearly explained allowing you to learn at a steady pace. Included in the course is preliminary exercise work and printed material to take away. On 10 November you can find me at the Birmingham NEC where I will be running two, three hour acrylic workshops on how to paint trees in acrylic - organised by The Artist Magazine and sponsored by Daler Rowney. They will also learn how to use paint in both thin and thick applications for generating various textures and forms often seen in trees. Included will be demonstrations and advice on how to use different brush techniques and applications which are ideal for creating exciting and expressive tree paintings. The cost is £50 per person for which you receive over £50 worth of acrylic painting materials selected by myself, three hours of expert tuition plus free entry into the show. Towards the end of the year I will be exhibiting again at Harrison Lord gallery alongside Clare Haley from 3 to 30 November where there will be around 20 new landscape pieces of mine on show.
